Privacy policy

BaanScope is free to use and needs no account. Most of the site can be read without giving us anything at all. This page sets out exactly what is collected, why, and what never happens to it.

What we never do

We do not sell personal data. We do not run advertising, and there are no advertising or cross-site tracking networks embedded in the site. There are no user accounts, so there is no password to lose. We do not buy contact data from third parties.

Analytics

The site uses PostHog for product analytics — page views and a small set of interaction events, used to see which pages are useful and where the site is confusing. Analytics is loaded only when configured, it is not used to build advertising profiles, and session recording is not enabled. If your browser sends a tracking-preference signal or you use a content blocker, the site works normally without it.

Enquiry and subscription forms

If you send an enquiry about a project, we receive the email address you type, plus whichever optional fields you fill in: your name, the project, a budget range, a timeline and a message. If you subscribe to updates, we receive your email address only. Those messages are delivered to us by our email provider and stored in the mailbox that receives them, and the subscriber list is held by our email provider. They are used to answer you and to send the updates you asked for — nothing else.

Forms carry a hidden anti-spam field and a short-lived, per-address rate limit. Rate-limit counters are held briefly in server memory and are not a durable record of your visit.

What stays in your browser

Your watchlist, your currency choice and the cached exchange rates live in your own browser's local storage. They are never transmitted to us, and clearing your browser data deletes them permanently. There is nothing on our side to delete because we never had a copy.

Your rights and how to use them

Write to info@baanscope.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and to unsubscribe from updates — every update email also carries an unsubscribe link. Because the only personal data we hold is what you typed into a form, these requests are usually a single mailbox search and are answered by hand.

Third parties and changes

The site is served by a hosting provider, email is sent by an email provider, and analytics is processed by the provider named above; each processes data on our instructions so the site can run. Property data itself is public information republished from developer websites and official statistical sources and contains nothing about you. Material changes to this policy will be reflected here.
